Trover Solutions needs to obtain detailed information to determine if another party is responsible for the medical treatment provided. The actions of Trover Solutions are in full compliance with HIPAA. HIPAA specifically permits your health plan, a Covered Entity, to seek payment of claims without a patient authorization under 45 CFR 164.502.(a)(1)(ii). The HIPAA definition of payment includes, but is not limited to, subrogation of health benefit claims, coordination of benefits and a review of charges for healthcare services.
